Police are investigating the homicide of a man found stabbed to death Saturday on the Northwest Branch Trail in Langley Park.
Prince George’s County and Maryland-National Capital Park police found Akinleye Osafa Warner, 19, suffering from stab wounds at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday after responding to a call for an unconscious man at the 1500 block of Quebec Street in Langley Park, said Lt. Brian Waters, park police spokesman.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and police are working to identify suspects and motives in the case, Waters said.
The portion of the trail where Warner was found is heavily used, as it empties into the nearby residential area at the 1500 block of Quebec Street, Waters said. Police haven’t released the residential information for Warner at this time.
“We are dealing with really preliminary information regarding this unfortunate incident,” Waters said.
