Brasserie Beck opened in Gaithersburg -- Gazette.Net

After much anticipation, Brasserie Beck has finally opened the doors to diners in its new Kentlands location.

The Belgian eatery, which is owned by Chef Robert Wiedmaier, opened Tuesday, according to Polly Wiedmaier, chief marketing officer for RW Restaurant Group. Wiedmaier said the restaurant is currently taking limited reservations to ensure the best service without overwhelming kitchen staff.

“Week by week we will take more reservations as the front of the house and the kitchen solidify,” she wrote in an email to The Gazette.

With a location already in Washington, D.C., Brasserie Beck is known for its extensive Belgian beer list, mussels, beef carbonnade, steak and frites, tagliatelle with wild boar ragu and other entrees.

The restaurant, at 311 Kentlands Blvd., occupies the space formerly belonging to O’Donnell’s Sea Grill, which had been a longtime community staple.

RW Restaurant Group also includes Mussel Bar & Grille in Bethesda, Arlington and Atlantic City, Wildwood Kitchen in Bethesda, Brabo in Alexandria, and Marcel’s in Washington, D.C.
