About 800 people attended the third annual Takoma Park Elementary School basketball game between parents and teachers April 24 at Blair High School.

The teachers won this year’s contest.

The game is more of a community event than fundraiser, with proceeds going to the school PTA’s general fund to covers item like guided reading books and field trips.

In a special fundraiser this year, PTA members raised more than $1,000 to help offset the medical costs for a student who was critically injured in a car accident over spring break.
