The Bowie Farmer’s Market is moving up this year as residents will be able to purchase local beef and goat meats along with vegetables and fruits when the market opens May 18.
This is the first year the market will be offering local meats, which will be available all year, said Matt Corley, Bowie special events coordinator. The market is open from 8 a.m. to noon May 18 and will open each Sunday until Oct. 26, Corley said.
“Everybody should come out so they come back next year,” Corley said.
The market also will offer a limited selection of vegetables and fruits as the growing season ramps up, Corley said. There also will be local breads, pastries, jams, jellies and other goods available, he said. Plants will be on sale as well so residents can go home and grow their own tomatoes and other vegetables, he said.
