Cava Grill is set to open two new restaurant locations in Montgomery County this summer — one in the Kentlands community in Gaithersburg and the other in Bethesda’s Westfield Montgomery Mall.
Known for its authentic Greek cuisine, Cava Grill serves its dishes in a casual, fast setting, according to a company news release. The menu allows diners to choose a base item, like a pita or bowl, and then fill it up with vegetables, dips and a type of protein, like braised lamb or falafel.
Founders Ike Grigoropoulos, Ted Xenohristos, Chef Dimitri Moshovitis and business partner Brett Schulman plan to continue expanding Cava Grill in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area as opportunities become available, the release said.
The restaurant in the Kentlands will near the Kmart, while the mall location will be in the new food court area.
The chain already have five other locations; Bethesda Row, Tenleytown, Columbia Heights Merrifield and Tysons Corner.
Cava Mezze Restaurant, the full-service version of Cava Grill, first opened in Rockville in 2006. It later expanded, adding locations in Capitol Hill and Clarendon, Va., the release said. A new location in Chinatown will be opening soon.
