Schools are closed Monday after snowfall starting at about 6 p.m. Sunday left up to 10 inches of snow in some places across the region.

Montgomery, Prince George’s and Fairfax schools and school administrative offices are all closed Monday. This includes community activities in school buildings.

Government offices and courts in Prince George’s and Fairfax counties are closed Monday. Montgomery County is open starting at 10 a.m., with liberal leave for employees

The National Weather Service recorded snowfall of 10 inches in parts of Germantown, 8 inches in Bethesda and Damascus, 7.5 inches in Bowie and 7 inches at East Fairfax Station as of 7:30 a.m. Monday. A winter storm warning is in effect through 2 p.m.
