The 10th annual Potomac Flute Festival returns to Rockville this weekend, with performances and activities scheduled Friday through Sunday. Featuring a theme of “Winds of Remembrance,” the festival will feature returning performers from past events. Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, Arvel Bird, Native-American flutist and fiddler, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, with music inspired by his Native American and Celtic heritage. Historically, Native Americans of the Red River region intermarried with Scottish settlers, creating a fiddle tradition of their own. For locations and schedules, visit www.potomacflutefestival.org.
