On Feb. 19, the Laurel Rotary Club honored two seniors from Laurel high schools who excelled academically last quarter.
Mohamed Mansaray, 19, attends Laurel High School and hopes to pursue a degree in engineering, mechanics or robotics after graduation.
Isabelle Fromm attends St. Vincent Pallotti High School and plans to attend the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, after graduation.
“These are outstanding students,” said Joy Kline, rotary club president. “They are selected by their school for their good scholastic work as well as what they do in the community.”
Kline said that more than 400 students have been recognized by the rotary club over the past 46 years.
Mansaray and Fromm each received a certificate from Laurel Mayor Craig Moe and a certificate from the rotary club with a check for $100.
The two students, along with other Laurel high school seniors who have been accepted to a four-year university, are eligible to apply for the three $400 scholarships offered by the rotary club this year, Kline said.
