Police have identified the man shot and killed Tuesday night in Germantown as James Allen Frazier, 21 of Rockville.
At about 10 p.m., police were called to the area of Drumcastle Court in Germantown and found a man, shot and lying in the road on Oxbridge Drive at the intersection of Md. 355, according to Montgomery County Police spokesman Paul Starks.
Frazier, who lived in the 200 block of Frederick Avenue in Rockville, was transported to a local hospital where he died Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, police investigators continued to search the area for evidence.
“In any investigation that is an outside scene, it presents challenges with weather and the snow,” Starks said.
Just Monday, police were called to a home off of Norbeck Road where a man was found dead in a driveway. Another man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Police are still trying to piece together what happened there.
“I believe these last two events are closable,” Starks said of Monday and Tuesday’s slayings.
Detectives are asking anyone who has information about either incident to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for these crime. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
Monday and Tuesday’s slaying mark the eighth and nineth reported homicides in 2014. There were eight criminal homicides in the county in 2013, down from 15 in 2012 and 19 in 2005, the earliest data available online from police.
