The Parent Teacher Student Association at High Point High School in Beltsville will host a yard sale on from 8 a.m. to noon, March 22 from 8 a.m. to noon at the school, located at 3601 Powder Mill Road.

Community members are invited to rent tables and sell their items, as well as to attend the event and shop, said coordinator Karen Coakley.

Proceeds from the yard sale will go towards High Point PTSA-sponsored activities such as college scholarships and an event to thank teachers and staff, Coakley said. It is the first year the High Point PTSA has hosted a yard sale, she said.

“This year, things are a little bit tighter, so we are trying to do something different with fundraisers,” Coakley said.

Any school or community member may rent a table and two chairs for $20 and sell their used items at the event, which Coakley said is a great way to get started on spring cleaning. Call 301-531-4186 to register for a table.

She also encourages community members to stop by and peruse the tables.

“One man’s junk is another person’s treasure,” she said. “You never know when you’re going to find that special gem.”
