Montgomery County police are still looking for leads in a trio of gas station robberies in Silver Spring last summer.
Between Aug. 23 and Aug. 28, three Silver Spring stations were robbed of cash and cigarettes. Police said evidence suggest the same person was behind all three.
On Wednesday, enhanced surveillance images from the robberies were posted on the police department’s news blog with hopes they would lead to a break in the case.
The first robbery happened at around 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at a Shell gas station at 9510 Georgia Ave., where there were reports of an armed robber making off with cash and cigarettes.
Police said similar scenarios played out Aug. 26 at a Sunoco station at 12040 Cherry Hill Road and at a Shell station at 11150 New Hampshire Ave.
Detectives have asked anyone with information to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous.
