County officials are still unsure what caused a two-alarm fire that displaced more than 20 Germantown residents on Feb. 15.
Firefighters responded to a blaze on Pickering Court in Germantown around 12:30 a.m. that morning, according to county fire and rescue spokeswoman Beth Anne Nesselt.
Thick smoke billowed from the three-story apartment complex and fire was destroying the roof when firefighters arrived. Nesselt said six apartments were severely damaged. A firefighter was treated with minor injuries and has since been released.
Damages from the fire are estimated at about $300,000, according to Nesselt. Red Cross volunteers have relocated residents from the apartment complex.
The incident is under investigation.
