Jewelry fans got their wish at the Upper Marlboro Branch Library on Saturday as the branch held a basic jewelry making class.
The class teaches people to make basic pieces of jewelry with provided beads and string. Librarian Amy Jenkins said the class brought in about five people and the branch will likely hold another event in the future.
“The class is targeted toward teens and adults,” Jenkins said. “It is an opportunity for the library to act as a learning center. Learning isn’t just reading books.”
Jenkins said the next jewelry making class doesn’t have a date yet, but the branch tries to hold at least four of the classes each year.
