Homecrest House in Silver Spring received a $5,000 grant from the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services to help support the services provided at its Edwards Building.

The nonprofit helps low-income seniors with personal care services such as weekly housekeeping, laundry services, assistance with bathing, daily meals and help with administering medications. Senior residents receive subsidies for rent and personal care services through the Housing Opportunities Commission, the state’s Department of Aging and the Seniors Nutrition Program.

Homecrest House is owned by the nonprofit National Capital B’nai B’rith Housing Foundation.
