Nominations are being accepted for the ninth annual Greater Olney-Sandy Spring Athena Award.

Presented in memory of Brooke Grove Retirement Village founder Eleanor Howe Marston, the program was created to recognize and honor women for community service and professional and personal leadership.

Particular consideration is given to nominees who demonstrate a “dedication of self and a generosity of spirit” toward the greater Olney-Sandy Spring community.

Nominees must live, work or volunteer in, and make a significant impact on, the community. Nominations may be resubmitted after a one-year hiatus.

Nomination, sponsorship and tribute forms are available at olneymd.org or bgf.org. Proceeds benefit the Olney Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund and the Brooke Grove Foundation Sue Howe Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The nomination deadline is Feb. 28. Nominees will be honored and the recipient announced at a tea May 2 at Brooke Grove.

For more information, call the chamber at 301-774-7117, or Toni Davis at Brooke Grove, 301-388-7209.
