The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate a critically missing person, 28-year-old Matthew Holmes. Police said Holmes has been diagnosed as bi-polar and suffers from depression. Holmes believes he is a “Star Wars” character and is afraid of guns and police officers, the sheriff’s office stated in a release.

Holmes was last known to be operating his silver 2008 Ford Focus, with Maryland registration 7BC9569. His credit card was last used at a Super 8 motel, located in Lexington Park, this morning, police said. Anyone with information regarding Holmes’ whereabouts is asked to contact Det. Nick DeFelice of the Calvert Investigative Bureau at 410-535-2800; refer to case no. MPR 14-2856. Holmes has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
