A fire in a two-story Damascus farm home Thursday evening caused extensive damage and displaced two people.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service received a call around 8:30 p.m. for the house fire in the 11400 block of Mt. View Road, according to Assistant Chief Scott Graham.

Most of the fire was extinguished in about 45 minutes; fire and rescue personnel stayed on the scene another two hours, Graham said.

The fire reached most of the house and caused more than $300,000 of damage, he said.

One man had minor, non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital, Graham said.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
