Byron (Kyle) Dorethy passed away suddenly in Rockville, MD on November 22, 2013 at the age of 42. He will be mourned by those that survive him: his daughter, Michaela Dorethy, mother Virginia (Ginny) Dorethy, brother Bret Dorethy (Stephanie), sisters Andrea Delgado, and Becky McGhee (Michael), companion Mae Coughlan, 6 Nephews, 2 Nieces, 1 Great Nephew, 1 Great Niece, 1 special person Mike Smith, as well as many other family and friends. They will celebrate his life and memory as well.
Kyle was born and raised in Maryland, spending summer vacations in Illinois. He attended Fields Road Elementary, Ridgeview Jr. High and graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1989. He was a gifted musician, playing guitar and bass, as well as drums. He loved nature and animals, especially his dear cat, Ezel. A capable, self-taught businessman, Kyle spent the last 10 years as general manager of Ledo Pizza in Germantown, MD. He loved to read and explored many philosophies of spirituality, enjoying particularly the peacefulness of the Buddhist Temple. Kyle enjoyed John Wayne movies and MASH reruns. He had a great sense of humor, enjoying comedian Jim Gaffigan's stories of fatherhood. He was a passionate enthusiast of motorcycles.
His greatest love was, by far, his beloved daughter, whom he considered his greatest gift in life. She is his legacy in this world. He was preceded in death by his father, Carol (Dean) Dorethy and Abuelito Bruno (his daughter's Grandfather). Loving son, devoted father, loyal brother and friend, Kyle Dorethy will forever be in our hearts.
