Rosa Parks Elementary School in Hyattsville held a Halloween-themed “Boo to Drugs” anti-drug event Oct. 31 as part of Red Ribbon Week, an alcohol, drug and violence prevention awareness campaign.

Students and teachers dressed in costumes for the anti-drug program, which featured McGruff the Crime Dog.

“It’s not so much about the costumes, we’re just saying we are against drugs,” school counselor Victor Butler said.

The event included an assembly that informed students about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and violence.
