I was standing in line at Safeway and wearing my Vietnam veteran hat when a man approached and handed me a card. It read, “Thank you for your service and dedication to our country.”
It’s been more than 40 years since I left Vietnam and the first time anyone has personally thanked me. I was at a loss for words, and I’m not sure I even thanked him. That was very thoughtful of him, and I want him to know how grateful I am. It really touched me, and now I keep the card in my wallet as a reminder of the gesture. Thanks again.
