Imelda “Emmy” “Nana” Ahr (1944-2013)

of York, Pennsylvania died on Monday, September 30, 2013.

Imelda was born in 1944 and was the daughter of George and Ann Franco.

Imelda graduate from Caldwell College, with a degree in English, and taught for several years in New Jersey before she married and moved to Northern Virginia. Imelda traveled to Laos, Thailand, Burma, Korea, Japan and the Phillippines with her husband, who workd for the State Department. Imelda taught at the prestigious Sacred Heart Academy and at Sogang University in Korea.

Imedla is survived by her beloved husband, Fred; her adoring son, Joseph Gerrit, and David; her six grandchildren and her brothers, Joseph and Jerome.

Imelda lived a full life and found joy in this life with family and friends. Imelda touched us all in wonderful ways and will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held at Keffer Funeral Home, www.KefferFH.comon Thursday, October 3rd from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.

The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York PA.
