Hero Dogs, a Brookeville nonprofit that trains and places service dogs with injured veterans, will receive a portion of the proceeds from the fifth annual Putts Fore Mutts golf tournament.

The Putts Fore Mutts Foundation of Annapolis will host the tournament Monday at the Queenstown Harbor Golf Course.

The tournament will be played in a four-person scramble format. Registration and a putting contest start at 9 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Tournament contests will include a $1 million shootout.

The cost is $150, which includes lunch, beer, soda and a catered awards banquet. Sponsorships are available at multiple levels.

Hero Dogs provides trained service dogs to veterans with physical and mental health challenges, to help provide increased independence and safety. There is no charge to the veteran for the dog or any associated training.
