One lane on a portion of Rockville Pike is scheduled to be closed overnight while work crews replace a water main.

Work began Sept. 8 and is expected to last two months.

The work is taking place roughly between First Street and Baltimore Road along Rockville Pike and Veirs Mill Road. One northbound lane will be closed during construction.

The work is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday during the two months of the project.

The construction is part of Rockville’s water main rehabilitation program. According to city officials, some temporary water service interruptions may occur, but affected properties should receive advance notice.
