The Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter invites residents to a free information session detailing 10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease.

The session will be held 10:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at the Langley Park Senior Center, located at 1500 Merrimac Drive in Hyattsville.

“Misplacing or forgetting things, not paying bills on time, getting lost while driving, or exhibiting unusual behaviors should not be ignored or written off as symptoms of getting older,” wrote Susan Kudla Finn, president and CEO of the Washington, D.C.-based Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter in an email. “It’s important to know what is normal aging and what isn’t.”

Finn recommended that families consult a doctor if a loved one experiences any warning signs.
