The Maryland State Highway Administration plans to construct a communications tower next year in the Persimmon Tree Lane area of the Carderock neighborhood in Bethesda.
State officials say the 180-foot-tall tower will improve the area’s communications systems. Work will include installing a traffic monitoring camera providing real-time data that will be shared with various state and county agencies. It also will provide space to cellular carriers that need to improve coverage in the area.
The public will have a chance to view displays, speak with project representatives and express their opinions at an informational meeting Tuesday.
