A Springfield man has admitted to goading juveniles into performing sexual acts online as he recorded videos of them.

Andrew Choi, 35, of Springfield pleaded guilty today in federal court to two counts of production of child pornography, and faces 15 to 30 years in prison at his sentencing, which is scheduled for Jan. 24.

According to court documents, Choi engaged in online video chats with at least ten boys under the age of 18 between May 2012 and January 2013. The underage boys performed sex acts on camera and Choi recorded it using a screen capture program. Approximately 330 of these types of videos were discovered on Choi’s computers, as well as more than 700 other still images saved on his computer’s hard drives. Court documents state that in one video, a boy from Virginia identifies himself as being 12 years old.

Choi’s attorney, Patrick N. Anderson, was not available for comment and phone messages left for him were not immediately returned.
