Living History presenter Patrick Lacefield on Tuesday recounted stories and songs from the Civil War era, telling tales from the Union and Confederacy sides of the conflict. Lacefield combined traditional music with an oral history of divergent allegiances that clashed in the Gaithersburg area.

The performance was held at the Gaithersburg Community Museum, which is hosting a series of events called “Tuesday Topics.” Future events in the series will include a presentation by two authors on Montgomery County ghosts and a Living History presenter with holiday customs from the Civil War era.
