The owner of O’Donnell’s Sea Grill, Bill Edelblut, served regular patrons and family members a last dinner before the restaurant closed on Saturday. The Gaithersburg restaurant was the last to close in a chain of locations. The O’Donnell’s chain started in Washington, D.C. in 1922 and expanded into Bethesda and the Kentlands. Edelblut said he is considering marketing the restaurant’s most popular menu items, including rum buns and crab cakes, in grocery stores.
