Police are looking for a man they believe robbed a bank in Germantown Wednesday and another in White Oak earlier this summer.

On Wednesday, a man walked into the Capital One Bank on the 21100 block of Frederick Road and gave a teller a note demanding cash, according to a police press release.

Surveillance footage caught the man on camera. He was wearing a green plaid, short-sleeved button-up shirt buttoned to his chin. He also had thick-rimmed glasses and long dreadlocks. The man is around 5’5”, according to the release.

The teller gave the man cash - police did not say how much - and then the robber fled.

“No gun was seen,” Montgomery County Police Spokeswoman Angela Cruz said. The entire robbery took less than five minutes, she said, and there were no injuries.

There was at least one customer in addition to employees in the bank, she said.

As with all bank robberies, police are working with the FBI, she said.

Police believe that he is the same person behind a Capital One bank robbery in White Oak which took place in May. In that robbery, camera footage showed the robber wearing a bright yellow dress shirt and a New York Yankees baseball cap.

Anyone with information regarding this bank robbery and/or the suspect involved is asked to contact the Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.
