Takoma Park

The details: Parade starts at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Carroll and Ethan Allen avenues and ends at Maple and Ritchie avenues. The evening program kicks off with live music at 7 p.m. at Takoma Park Middle School followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Montgomery County Fairgrounds

The details: Gates open at 5 p.m., live music begins at 5:30 p.m. with a concert from modern rock band The Lloyd Dobler Effect at 7 p.m. Fireworks at dusk.

Where: 16 Chestnut St., Gaithersburg. The Perry Parkway entrance will be closed, walk-in at Chestnut or Dalamar streets.

Montgomery Village Independence Day Celebration

The details: The day kicks off with the Fourth of July 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk at 8 a.m. The parade starts on Apple Ridge Road at 10 a.m., followed by a carnival and concert from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

When: 8 a.m. July 4

Where: Apple Ridge Road Recreation Area, 10101 Apple Ridge Road, Montgomery Village

Admission: Free; minimal cost for food, rides, etc.

Bowie Baysox Independence Day Picnic — Akron Aeros vs. Bowie Baysox

The details: Package includes general admission game ticket, access to the picnic pavilion, a two-hour buffet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. including hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, baked beans, chips and soft drinks. Fireworks to follow the game.

When: 6:35 p.m. July 3

Where: Prince George’s Stadium, 4101 NE Crain, Bowie

Admission: $27 for adults 13 and up, $22 for children 6-12. $10 for children 3-5, $22 for ticket plan holders.

University of Maryland, College Park

The details: Concessions open at 5 p.m. and offer hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes and ice cream. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and drink. Live entertainment from the Rock & Roll Relics begins at 7 p.m. Fireworks start around 9 p.m.

When: 5 p.m. July 4

Where: Parking in Lot 1, off Campus Drive near the University Boulevard/Adelphi Road entrance. Grass seating is limited so guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs.

Granville Gude Park

The details: Parade lineup begins at 9:30 a.m. at 6th and Montgomery Streets. Parade begins at 11 a.m., followed by the family field events from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and fireworks at dusk. With the demolition of Laurel mall, there is limited parking. Officials suggests scouting out parking in advance.

Frederick



The details: If you’re willing to make the drive, Frederick’s got a day full of live music, food and fireworks. Concerts run all day on the Country and Bandshell Stages culminating with a 7 p.m. concert from award-winning country music group Lonestar, on the Country Stage. The family fun area includes inflatable amusements for children, martial arts and cheerleading demonstrations and a scavenger hunt. And for the adults, three beer gardens.

When: Noon until dusk July 4
