Montgomery County police are investigating the report of a shooting outside of Stedwick Elementary School at about 4:45 p.m. Monday in Montgomery Village.

An anonymous individual reported witnessing the shooting of a male victim, but when responding 6th District officers arrived, they could not locate a victim, according to a release from Montgomery County Police.

Shortly thereafter, the police Emergency Communications Center received information that an area emergency facility was treating a male for a recent gunshot wound.

Detectives are now investigating whether the man receiving treatment for a gunshot wound was shot in the Montgomery Village area.

The individual is being treated for a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

Police spokeswoman Rebecci Innocenti said Tuesday that no additional information was available about the incident.
