Montgomery County Police are asking the public for help identifying a suspect in a May 17 bank robbery in Damascus.

Officers responded at about 12:51 p.m. to the reported robbery at the M&T Bank branch at 9801 Main St. Investigation revealed that a man entered the bank, demanded money from a teller and received an undisclosed amount of cash, which he placed in a plastic bag before fleeing from the bank, according to Lucille Baur, a police spokewsoman.

The man did not display a weapon, Baur said.

Surveillance photos show the suspect wearing a red Aeropostale sweatshirt with the words “AERO 1987” printed in white letters, sunglasses, a baseball hat and a cloth over the lower half of his face, Baur said.

The man is described as white, in his early 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, according to Baur.

Detectives want anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect to call the county police Robbery Section at 240-773-5100. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477. Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest.
