Gaithersburg police have arrested a suspect they say was involved in two residential burglaries.

Larry Francis Jackson, of Washington, D.C., was arrested on April 29 and charged with misdemeanor theft and felony theft.

On Feb. 7, Gaithersburg and Montgomery County police responded to a report of a residential burglary at 5:51 p.m. on Virginia Drive in Gaithersburg. According to a release from Gaithersburg police, an unknown suspect or suspects entered the home through a rear window and removed property.

On Feb. 15 at 6:17 p.m., a residential burglary was reported on Brighton Drive, where an unknown suspect or suspects entered the residence through the back door and removed property, the release said. According to Gaithersburg Police spokesperson Officer Dan Lane, jewelry and money were taken from the homes.

Jackson, 63, was identified as a suspect for both residential burglaries. Details linking Jackson to the incidents are still under investigation, Lane said.

Police issued a warrant for Jackson’s arrest on March 19. Prince George’s County police also issued an arrest warrant for Jackson related to a misdemeanor theft in the county, the release said.

Police are investigating whether other residential burglaries in Gaithersburg involved Jackson.

He was charged with two counts of misdemeanor theft and one county of felony theft. According to Gaithersburg police, Jackson was released on a $15,000 bond.
