A Germantown resident died on April 29, three days after being struck by a car on Lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg.

Montgomery County and Gaithersburg police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on April 26 at 8:36 p.m. near the Lakeforest Mall bus station. Silvano Celedonio Alvarado, 60, was crossing Lost Knife Road from the median to the curb when he was struck by a black Lexus, according to a release from Montgomery County police.

Alvarado, a resident of the 12900 block of Walnut View Court in Germantown, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Police identified the driver of the Lexus as Song Hee Lee, 71, of Gaithersburg. According to the release, he stayed on the scene after the collision.

Alvarado died of his injuries on April 29. The Gazette was unable to reach Alvarado’s family.

Police are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
