Adventist HealthCare completed the move of its headquarters Monday from Rockville to Gaithersburg.

The new office at 820 W. Diamond Ave. will be occupied by 300 employees and will save the company on its lease.

Adventist HealthCare has been in Rockville, on Research Drive, since 1996, but with the company’s lease ending this month, it was an opportune time to look for other opportunities, spokesman Thomas Grant said.

The move was announced in January 2012, and the city of Gaithersburg gave the company $160,000 in community development grants to renovate the 70,000-square-foot space.

President and CEO William G. Robertson thanked the city for its support in the press release.

The space is about 10,000 square feet smaller than their Rockville headquarters, Grant said, but it has a more efficient configuration.

City officials visited the headquarters Tuesday, April 16, for a ceremonial blessing of the office.

Adventist was founded in 1907 and employs about 6,000 people in Montgomery County.
