Wrestler of the Year

Alfred Bannister, Bishop McNamara: The junior competed for most of the year in the 145-pound weight class before dropping down to 138 to dominate, well, everybody. Bannister finished the season 68-0 and capped it with a National Preps title. He's still on track to break Maryland's alltime record for wins.



Coach of the Year

Earl Newman, Surrattsville: In his second year guiding the program, Newman again led the Hornets to an appearance in the Regional Duals. When he took over, there was one wrestler on the team and Newman has since built the group up to respectability.
