Hyattsville Elementary School will be conducting a five-day session of Camp Impact, a nonprofit national camp program, from June 17 through June 21.
The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes hands-on activities related to science, technology, engineering and medicine, said Kay Cadette, special education resource teacher at Hyattsville Elementary and camp director. Hyattsville Elementary teachers will run the camp and other local teachers may join in, as well, she said.
The camp is open to all students who are entering first through sixth grade and cost $220 for the week. Those who register online get a discount and pay $215. Parents can register their children at: http://inventnow-web.ungerboeck.com/programsearch/moreinfo.aspx?event=8387
“It sounds fun,” Cadette said. “Those are favorite subjects: math and science. Right now we do have a lot of interest, and (eight) parents have already paid online.”
