Barbara J. Sydenstricker, 65, of Upper Marlboro died Feb. 24, 2013, at Hospice of the Chesapeake after a longtime battle with cancer.

Ms. Sydenstricker was born June 3, 1947, in Washington, D.C., to the late Garnett Kidwell and Annabelle (Anderson) Kidwell. She is survived by her loving companion of 28 years, Eddie Reynolds, of Upper Marlboro; her daughter Dawn Marie Taylor (fiance Mike Boyd) of Upper Marlboro, Denise Ann Taylor of Upper Marlboro; brothers Gene Metcalf of Upper Marlboro, Billy Metcalf of Upper Marlboro, Harry (Bucky) Kidwell of Gambrills; grandchildren Brittany M. Gough, Cory E. Taylor and Briana N. Taylor and great grandson Nathan A. Kropkowski.

Funeral services were held March 1 at Lee’s Funeral Home in Clinton with the internment at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton.
