The following is a summary of incidents in the Silver Spring/ Takoma Park area to which Montgomery County and/or Takoma Park police responded recently. The words “arrested” and “charged” do not imply guilt. This information was provided by the county and Takoma Park police media services office.

3rd District

Armed Robbery

• On Feb. 20 at 12:48 a.m. at 7-Eleven, 9250 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring. The subject threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Commercial Burglary

• Between 9 p.m. Feb. 13 and 8 a.m. Feb. 15 at The Holiness Church, 4140 Sandy Spring Road, Burtonsville. Forced entry, took nothing.

• Between 4 p.m. Feb. 14 and 9 a.m. Feb. 15 at Beilers Structures, 15545 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville. Forced entry, took property.

• On Feb. 15 at 7:48 p.m. at Oligil Fashion, 8549 Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring. Attempted forced entry, took nothing.

Commercial Robbery

• On Feb. 16 at 3:07 p.m. at 7-Eleven, 8210 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring. The subjects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Residential Burglary

• 9700 block of Hedin Drive, Silver Spring, between noon and 4 p.m. Feb. 11. Forced entry, took property.

• 700 block of Chesapeake Avenue, Silver Spring, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 12. Attempted forced entry, took nothing.

• 600 block of Concerto Lane, Silver Spring, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Forced entry, took property.

• 11400 block of Oak Leaf Drive, Silver Spring, between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Forced entry, took property.

• 1500 block of Haddon Manor Court, Silver Spring, at 10 a.m. Feb. 14. Forced entry, took property.

• 700 block of Easley Street, Silver Spring, at 5:20 p.m. Feb. 14. No further information provided.

• 9300 block of Tahona Drive, Silver Spring, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16. No forced entry, took property.

Robbery

• On Feb. 16 at 7:45 p.m. in the 8600 block of Garland Ave., Silver Spring. The subject threatened the victim with a weapon and unsuccessfully attempted to remove property from the victim.

Sex Offense

• On Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m. in the 11600 block of Lockwood Drive, Silver Spring. The subject exposed himself to the victim.

Strong-Arm Robbery

• On Feb. 14 at 6:21 p.m. in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace, Silver Spring. The subjects assaulted the victim and removed property.

Vehicle Larceny

• Five incidents in Silver Spring between Feb. 11 and 14. In two of the incidents the subjects removed vehicle parts and in two of the three remaining incidents, the subjects forced entry and removed and iPod and computer equipment. Took a GPS unit and gym bag from an unlocked vehicle in the last incident. Affected streets include two incidents on Blackburn Lane, Strauss Terrace, Trebleclef Lane and Mozart Drive.

• Eight incidents in Silver Spring between 2 and 8:05 a.m. Feb. 14. In all of the incidents, entry was forced and vehicle parts were taken. Affected streets include thee incidents on Belvedere Boulevard, Granville Drive, Clark Place, Blundon Road, Georgia Avenue, Churchill Road and Bonnywood Lane.

4th District

Aggravated Assault

• On Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. in the 3300 block of Tidewater Court, Olney. The subject threatened the victim with a weapon.

Armed Robbery

• On Feb. 12 at 12:46 p.m. at Bel Pre Beer and Wine, 2251 Bel Pre Road, Aspen Hill. The subject threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

• On Feb. 15 at 8:20 p.m. at Subway, 11331 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring. The subject threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

• On Feb. 18 at 10:26 p.m. in the 11900 block of Andrew Street, Silver Spring. The subjects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Burglary

• Between Feb. 8 and 10 in the 4100 block of Great Oak Road, Rockville. Took construction materials from a construction site.

Commercial Burglary

• Between Feb. 15 and 17 at William Tyler Elementary School, 13400 Tamarack Road, Silver Spring. No forced entry, unknown if anything was taken.

Residential Burglary

• 12600 block of Denley Road, Silver Spring, between 5 and 10 p.m. Feb. 15. Forced entry, took nothing.

Sex Assault

• On Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. on a Ride On bus in the area of Georgia Avenue and Route 108, Olney. The subject inappropriately touched the victim.

Strong-Arm Robbery

• On Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. in the 3700 block of Ferrara Drive, Silver Spring. The subject assaulted the victim and took property.

• On Feb. 14 at 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Veirs Mill Road, Wheaton. The subjects assaulted the victims, obtained property and were arrested.

• On Feb. 15 at 7:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Red Eagle Court, Aspen Hill. The subject is known to the victim.

• On Feb. 15 at 10 p.m. in the 2700 block of Lindell Street, Silver Spring. The subject assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Vehicle Larceny

• 2200 block of Glenallan Avenue, Silver Spring, at 10:55 a.m. Feb. 14. Took vehicle parts.

Takoma Park

Commercial Burglary

• On Feb. 25 at 8:32 a.m. in the 6900 block of Carroll Avenue. Unknown subject(s) pried open doors on two offices and stole property.

Homicide

• On Feb. 24 at 1:42 a.m. in the 7300 block Flower Avenue. Officers responded to calls for shots fired in progress. Upon arrival two men were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds lying in the driveway and pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigation revealed that the first victim was shot by the second victim, who then took his own life. No other subject(s) were involved or injured in the incident.

Larceny

• 1300 block of University Boulevard at 8:25 p.m. Feb. 25. A man and woman entered a store and took items without paying for them.

Residential Burglary

• 7100 block of Poplar Avenue at 9:14 a.m. Feb. 23. Unknown subject(s) gained entry into a residence by unknown means and stole a computer.

• 1200 block of Myrtle Avenue at 9:57 a.m. Feb. 26. Unknown subject(s) forced entry into an apartment by unknown means and stole a laptop.

Vehicle Larceny

• 1000 block of Hopewell Avenue at 8:27 a.m. Feb. 25. Unknown subject(s) broke a driver side window to gain entry into a vehicle and stole property.
