Prince George’s police have identified the man who died in a three-vehicle collision in a Landover construction zone where four others were injured Monday afternoon

Tyronski Johnson, 37, of Bowie, was driving a Dodge Charger on Landover Road prior to Fire House Road when he struck a sign indicating there was a construction zone ahead, police said.

Johnson then struck a Ford Expedition and crashed head-on into a cement truck that had been parked inside the construction zone, said Cpl. Maria McKinney, a Prince George’s County police spokeswoman.

Johnson was pronounced dead on the scene, and two passengers in the Charger and a passenger in the Ford Expedition suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to an area hospital, McKinney said.

A construction worker was also injured and transported to a hospital, she said.

McKinney said whether speed or alcohol was factors in the collision remains under investigation.

Both lanes on Landover Road were shut down immediately following the crash, but all lanes reopened later Monday, police said.

A phone number for Johnson’s family could not be located.
