An 18-year-old is dead after he was apparently shot in a Lewisdale neighborhood Thursday evening, and Prince George’s County police are now seeking information in the killing.
Around 7 p.m. in the 7200 block of 24th Avenue, police were called for the report of a shooting, police said.
According to police, officers arrived and found Meyder Bladimir Yuman of the 2200 block of Lewisdale Drive in Lewisdale lying outside with an apparent gunshot wound. Police said Yuman was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Yuman’s home was less than a half mile from where he was found shot, police said.
Police are looking for possible suspects and trying to establish a motive, said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a county police spokesman.
“If anyone thinks they heard or saw something, please give us a call,” he said.
The police department’s homicide unit can be reached at 301-772-4925, or tips can be given anonymously through Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS.
A phone number for Yuman’s residence could not be located.
