Police searching for suspects in Verizon Wireless robbery -- Gazette.Net

Police are searching for two men who robbed a Verizon Wireless store in Plaza del Mercado in Silver Spring Tuesday night.

Two store employees were closing up the Verizon Wireless store at 2221 Bel Pre Road Tuesday night when two suspects entered the store, said Officer Janelle Smith, a Montgomery County Police spokeswoman. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and forced the employees to the back of the store where they were “physically restrained,” Smith said.

Media outlets reported the two store employees were tied up, though police would not confirm that detail. Police also would not comment on how many cell phones were stolen before the suspects fled the store.

The owner of the store was not immediately available for comment.

A third male suspect may be involved, police said.
