A Rockville elementary school teacher who was arrested Feb. 21 on charges he allegedly sexually abused two of his students has been released from jail after posting bond.

Timothy Vincent Krupica, 30, of the 6900 block of Rooks Court in Frederick, posted the $100,000 bond set by the District Court commissioner’s office Feb. 21.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police’s Family Crimes Division arrested Krupica on Feb. 21 for alleged sex offenses that occurred at Meadow Hall Elementary School in Rockville, where Krupica is a fifth-grade teacher.

On Feb. 20, detectives from the Family Crimes Division received information from two 11-year-old female victims who said they had been sexually abused by their teacher, later identified as Krupica, according to police.

The allegations were first brought to school officials, who immediately notified Montgomery County Police and Child Protective Services, said schools spokesman Dana Tofig.

Police investigation revealed that on several occasions between September 2012 and February, Krupica allegedly inappropriately touched both victims and forced or attempted to force both victims to inappropriately touch him, according to police. The offenses allegedly occurred at the school in the classroom during school hours, according to Janelle Smith, a Montgomery County Police spokeswoman.

“Right now, they don’t believe there are any other victims, but if anyone else believes they are a victim, they can contact detectives,” Smith said.

Krupica was also a co-instructor at the Bullis School in Potomac’s Wilderness and Adventure Camp for the past two summers, according to Susie Zimmermann, director of communications for the school.

Krupica faces two counts of sexual abuse of a minor and several additional sexual offense charges.

Krupica has been placed on administrative leave and the school system is conducting its own investigation, Tofig said.

Krupica was first hired by the school system in August 2009 and has only taught at Meadow Hall Elementary.
