The internationally acclaimed, Los Angeles-based Lula Washington Dance Theatre will present two performances at 7:30 p.m. March 7 and again at 8 p.m. March 8 at Black Rock Center for the Arts in Germantown. The performances will be preceded by free community engagement activities on Sunday and Monday at the theater. Washington and Company will offer a free presentation on Sunday afternoon (time to be announced) featuring scenes from “Avatar” and “The Little Mermaid,” and a discussion about choreographing animated films. A free creative movement workshop will be held for active seniors at 10:30 a.m. Monday, followed by movement workshops geared for children ages 6 to 16 from 5-7 p.m. Tickets are $30 for the March 7 performance and $32 for the March 8 performance.
