Discovery Communications of Silver Spring reported that its profit last year fell to $945 million from $1.13 billion in 2011; revenues rose to $4.49 billion from $4.17 billion. Its fourth-quarter profit fell to $224 million from $337 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $1.20 billion from $1.11 billion.



Federal Realty Investment Trust of Rockville reported that its profit last year grew to $156.2 million from $149.6 million in 2011; revenues rose to $608.0 million from $553.1 million; and funds from operations grew to $277.2 million from $251.6 million. Its fourth-quarter profit grew to $38.9 million from $32.5 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $156.4 million from $141.5 million; and funds from operations grew to $71.7 million from $62.1 million.



Choice Hotels International of Silver Spring reported that its profit last year grew to $120.7 million from $110.4 million in 2011; revenues rose to $691.5 million from $638.8 million; and revenue per available room rose to $40.84 from $38.44, as occupancy rose to 55.5 percent from 53.5 percent and average daily rate grew to $73.60 from $71.83. Its fourth-quarter profit fell to $24.5 million from $24.8 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $178.3 million from $165.9 million; and revenue per available room rose to $40.68 from $39.03, as occupancy rose to 55.4 percent from 54.2 percent and average daily rate grew to $73.44 from $71.98.



American Capital Agency of Bethesda reported that its profit last year grew to $1.27 billion from $770.5 million in 2011; revenues rose to $2.11 billion from $1.11 billion. Its fourth-quarter profit grew to $807 million from $208.7 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $570 million from $352.9 million.



American Capital Mortgage Investment of Bethesda reported that its fourth-quarter profit grew to $50.4 million from $17.2 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $41.5 million from $10.9 million. It reported a 2012 profit of $250.2 million; it began operations in August 2011.



American Capital of Bethesda reported that its profit last year grew to $1.14 billion from $974 million in 2011; revenues rose to $646 million from $591 million. Its fourth-quarter profit fell to $123 million from $594 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $180 million from $160 million.



Synutra International of Rockville reported a net loss of $13.5 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, versus a profit of $10.4 million in the prior-year quarter; sales fell to $73.2 million from $114.4 million.



Corporate Office Property Trust of Columbia reported a profit last year of $20.3 million, versus a net loss of $127.6 million in 2011; revenues rose to $528.0 million from $512.8 million; and funds from operations grew to $192.0 million from $72.7 million. It reported a fourth-quarter profit of $19.0 million, versus a net loss of $91.1 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $137.5 million from $128.0 million; and funds from operations grew to $47.8 million from a $21.8 million loss.



Washington Real Estate Investment Trust of Rockville reported that its profit last year fell to $23.7 million from $105.4 million in 2011; revenues rose to $305.0 million from $284.2 million; funds from operations grew to $122.5 million from $110.1 million. Its fourth-quarter profit fell to $3.0 million from $31.1 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $77.1 million from $75.4 million; funds from operations grew to $27.7 million from $15.6 million.



Vocus of Beltsville reported that its net loss last year widened to $23.6 million from $14.6 million in 2011; revenues rose to $170.8 million from $114.9 million. Its fourth-quarter net loss narrowed to $3.7 million from $11.8 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $47.1 million from $30.5 million.



Biota Pharmaceuticals of Rockville reported a profit of $4.8 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, versus a net loss of $7.1 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $10.4 million from $2.1 million.



India Globalization Capital of Bethesda reported a profit of $497,970 for the quarter ended Dec. 31, versus a net loss of $1.9 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $3.9 million from $986,799.



Omega Healthcare Investors of Hunt Valley reported that its profit last year grew to $120.7 million from $52.6 million in 2011; revenues rose to $350.5 million from $292.2 million; and funds from operations grew to $222.2 million from $172.5 million. Its fourth-quarter profit grew to $33.9 million from $19.3 million in the prior-year quarter; revenues rose to $95.0 million from $76.3 million; and funds from operations grew to $61.4 million from $46.3 million.



Universal Security Instruments of Owings Mills reported that its profit for the quarter ended Dec. 31 fell to $23,257 from $67,226 in the prior-year quarter; sales rose to $4.8 million from $3.2 million.



Madison Bancorp of Baltimore, parent of Madison Square Federal Savings Bank, reported that its profit for the quarter ended Dec. 31 grew to $72,241 from $18,020 in the prior-year quarter. Assets at Dec. 31 totaled $151.7 million, down from $155.2 million March 31.
