Clarksburg-based nonprofit American Health Assistance Foundation changed its name to BrightFocus Foundation effective Feb. 1, 2013.
The group, founded in 1973, funds early stage research and provides public education on Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration and glaucoma and the eradication thereof.
The name change better reflects the group’s mission “to save mind and sight,” according to President and CEO Stacy Pagos Haller.
BrightFocus Foundation is at 22512 Gateway Center Drive in Clarksburg. Visit www.brightfocus.org for more information.
