Reports of a suspicious package at the Montgomery County District Court House in Rockville shut down activity in the streets around the building this morning, according to Montgomery County Police.
Montgomery County and Rockville City police responded.
Police said that they did not close the courthouse, but did not allow anyone to enter into the building and advised county residents via their Twitter account to avoid the area.
Shortly after 9 a.m., the package was deemed not to be a safety hazard and the streets are now reopening, according to Montgomery County Police Officer Rebecca Innocenti. The courthouse resumed normal activity too.
