A Silver Spring man died after being struck by a car Thursday on Route 29 in White Oak, police said.

Charles Oppong Aboagye, 44, of the 100 block of Finale Terrace in Silver Spring tripped while crossing the southbound lanes of Route 29 from the center median, witnesses told Montgomery County police. He was then struck by a gray Nissan Altima operated by 43-year-old Kym Nwosu, of the 10200 block of Nightmist Court in Columbia, police said.

When Montgomery County police officers arrived on the scene 10:30 p.m., Aboagye was dead. Nwosu remained on the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.

Police are investigating the collision. Investigators ask anyone with information about the collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
