Prince George’s police have arrested a man for his alleged involvement in the murder of a 21-year-old Capitol Heights resident, who was found shot to death Dec. 27.

Johnathan Brandon Walker, 23, of Landover was arrested Wednesday for the murder of Nicholas Andrew Battle and is charged with first- and second-degree murder, police said.

Walker, of the 6000 block of Pemberton Lane in the Landover area, is being held in the county’s department of corrections without bond, police said.

“Detectives followed various leads that led them to the suspect and he was ultimately apprehended,” said Lt. Bill Alexander, a county police spokesman.

Police said Battle, of the 100 block of West Mill Road, was found dead inside a vehicle parked at the intersection of Pepper Mill Drive and Drylog Street on Dec. 27, about a half mile from his house.

Police were responding to a call for a “suspicious vehicle.”

A phone number for Battle’s family could not be located.

Alexander said police are still trying to determine a motive.

Defense attorney information was not listed with the courts by Wednesday, according to online county court records.
