The Knights of Columbus St. Hugh Council No. 10885 in Greenbelt held its annual Free Throw Championship Saturday at the St. Hugh’s School Gymnasium for boys and girls ages 10 to 14.

Judge Austin Connaty said that only four youths participated, and none made the minimum requirements to progress to the district level.

The Knights of Columbus competition continues at the state level for those who qualify in district, and international champions are chosen based on the scores from the state competitions.

Last year, more than 179,000 people participated in more than 3,000 local competitions, according to the Knights of Columbus.
